Oregon Veterans Home is a 148-bed skilled nursing facility with a scenic overlook providing care to the community in and around The Dalles, Oregon. Oregon Veterans Home is nearby the Columbia Gorge, Mt. Hood, and the many historic buildings in The Dalles. The therapy department is very well trained and they use multiple means of modalities. The Occupational Therapists even use musical percussion instruments for coordination training.
The therapy team works together with the nursing staff, maintenance staff, and administration to provide the care and therapy needed.
They have an L shaped gym with stairs, Omni VR, parallel bars, Hi/low table, cuff weights, t-band, dumbbells, balance discs, three nu steps, two omnicycles, rolling mirror, ACP modalities, and a full kitchen with a stove, microwave, washer/dryer, sink and fridge. Some of the programs offered at this facility are Stand Strong and Chronic Conditions.
With the difficulties and uncertainties associated with the Covid outbreak, Consonus was on top of keeping us updated on best practices in order to keep the patients and staff safe. When our facility had an outbreak, I felt very prepared and supported, and was able to work with the staff in order to continue therapy services. Help was always only a phone call away.
